Windsurfing: Esso beach Wind Direction: WSW Wind Stength: F6 Surf / Sea State: Frenetic Air Temperature: 17 Sea Temperature: Warm enough Weather: Grey, intermittent sun/rain Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Arrived at the sea front around 12.30 and it was a bit pants. Heavy rain
had obviously been around earlier looking at the car park and the wind was
iffy. Decided it wasn't worth persevering so headed to Esso and rigged a
5.5. By the time I hit the water it was very windy and apparent that the
5.5 was way too big. Went out for one run in the harbour and was stacked.
After playing with the dredger I headed back, had a few more minutes in the
lagoon and went ashore to rig the 4.7. Back on the water the wind had
dropped with some rain clouds that came over. Waited a bit and the wind
came back. Stayed in the lagoon and had a flurry of sweet gybes before it
went a bit iffy. Persevered but it was full of holes. Generally it had been
gusty all day and I binned it. Some good gybes made it all worth while and
worth 4 stars.
